Kisenyi takes Mengo derby as Pitch Pirates go top

In Group C on Friday, Kisenyi Futsal Club held on to overcome Mengo City in the Mengo derby while Pitch Pirates continued their brilliant form by flogging God’s Glory-Katale.

Starting with the first game of the day, Pitch Pirates humbled God’s Glory-Katale 8-2 to move to a maximum six points garnered in their opening two games.

To achieve that huge victory, Jurua Francis scored a hat-trick while Male Antony and Katamba Gerald each added two. Joseph Kakembo scored Pitch Pirates’ other goal of the day.

To the late kickoff of the day, Ibrahim Abdi Omar and Sharmake Ahmed Osman scored the two goals for Kisenyi as they overcame their village rivals, Mengo City 2-1.

This victory takes Kisenyi to three points – level on points with Mengo City with two games already played.

With two teams able to qualify from this group, Pitch Pirates will take on Mengo City while Kisenyi will battle God’s Glory-Katale.

The 2023 Futsal Uganda Cup will return next Friday with group D action. Yeak Kabowa will take on Park FC while Al Haramen will battle Motion Sports.
