2021/22 Futsal Super League champions Park FC and 2022/22 Futsal Super League champions Yeak Kabowa started off their 2023 Futsal Uganda Cup campaigns with vital victories over debutants Motion Sports and Al Haramen respectively.
Yeak Kabowa defeated Motion Sport 6-3 while Park FC overcame Al Haramen 5-3 with both these games played on Friday evening at Old Kampala Futsal Arena.
Abdullahi Mohammed Badel scored a hat-trick, Ssembatya Lawrence a brace while Younis Abdullahi scored once as Yeak Kabowa defeated Motion Sports who had Marvin Ssenyonjo, Wasswa Hassan and Joshua Ssentongo on target.
While Abasi Muluya and Mulangira Shafiq both netted twice for Park in their game against Al Haramen. The other goal for Park was an own goal by the Al Haramen goalkeeper.
Omran Al Tahir and Abdalla Abdulkadir Ali scored Al Haramen’s two goals on their debut.
Having scored six goals, Yeak Kabowa take an early lead in group D, level on points with Park FC but with superior goals scored.
Futsal Super League action will resume next Friday as FC Luzira takes on Edgar’s Youth Programme.
